Originally inaugurated as a theater in 1919 under the name "Teatro Gran Splendid," the building was designed by architect Fernando Manzone. It remained a cinema for decades, adapting to changes in the film industry, before being transformed into a bookstore in 2000. Over time, it has become one of the most iconic bookstores in the world.
